SECTION 1: RETREAT INFO
Below is information about the retreat program, the house and accommodation options, and pricing. We will do our best to accommodate everyone's priority choices.

The retreat is open to a maximum of 10 participants.

Note: If you are interested in a shared room and you would like to be matched with someone you know who is also applying for the retreat, please let us know in the additional notes field at the end of the form.
Program

Day 1: Arrival & goal setting

Check-in: 5pm

- Ice breaker/intention setting

- Getting to know each other: a casual writing circle


Dinner at the house (included).


Day 2: Demystifying and navigating the publishing industry

BLOC 1: INDUSTRY

How does it work? Inside the black box

- Case study: Chloe's agent debacle

- Going rogue: submitting to indie publishers unagented

- DIY, Together: collective indie publishing/self-publishing

BLOC 2: COMMUNITY BUILDING/NAVIGATING

- Making writer friends and connections in the lit world

- Reading like a writer / reading for community building

- Creating a writing/accountability group


Breakfast and lunch included. Optional group dinner at a restaurant (not included).


Day 3: Get Over Yourself

- Using Your Resources

- Scrappy publicity/marketing

- Strategies for submission to lit journals and pitching mainstream mags

- Use your hidden talents: exploring other mediums/diversifying

- Hit Submit


Breakfast and lunch included. We will spend the evening doing a casual reading and hit submit party over take-out or dinner communally cooked at the house (not included).


Day 4: Get Your Lit Shit Together

- Organization tips for writers

             Task management that works for you

             Organizing your ideas on the go

             Collecting glimmers

             Spreadsheets: for tracking submissions, for publicity, for book-length projects

- Mapping your literary path: crafting your action plan


Breakfast included. The retreat ends at noon.

We will meet in a beautiful house walking distance to cafés, bookstores, and restaurants. See pictures of common spaces below, and room options with pricing.

King bed, writing desk, private bath.

Queen bed, writing desk, shared bath.

Two full-size beds, shared bath.
$1,400 per person.

One twin bed and one full size bed. Shared bath.
$1,250 per person.

Commuter Options
There are four spots available for retreat participants who want to book their own accommodation in Hudson.
